vocational school Bregenz

competition, 3rd prize

Vorarlberg

1991

For an addition to a vocational school in Bregenz, the classrooms and workshops were organized linearly, stacked, and brought together under the roof. The workshops receive light from above via the special roof form – shed roofs extending farther downward than is typical – while the classrooms receive daylight through the facade. The hedgehogshapedworkshop roof gives the building its idiosyncratic identity and a scale that obscures the number of stories.
