ARTEC Architects, Bettina Götz and Richard Manahl, completed their architectural studies at Graz University of Technology and founded ARTEC Architects in 1985.
Through their work and their philosophy, ARTEC Architects have positioned themselves against the mainstream and, in the spirit of Hans Hollein, have opposed the prevailing pragmatism of functionalist architecture with a spirit of intellectual resistance. In an era of capital-driven architecture that must simultaneously provide answers to the critical scarcity of resources, ARTEC create diverse spatial experiences—both interior and exterior—through intelligent concepts and exceptional design skills. Through their committed and consistent translation of thought processes into concrete form, ARTEC plays a significant role in shaping contemporary architectural discourse, both nationally and internationally.
